• Posts into Letters recently took home the MM&M silver award for philanthropic campaign – the campaign encourages people to reach out to Congress to influence change around gun control. To do so, a platform was created where people can convert their tweets or social media posts into handwritten letters that are sent to congress. The campaign was created in memory of Joaquin, who was tragically killed in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas school shooting, so all of the letters are generated in his handwriting. To date, there has been 19,768 letters written to congress. This campaign recognized that Congress may be able to ignore tweets, but it’s much harder to ignore a problem when thousands of handwritten letters appear at their office. It also leveraged the power and influence of social media with this younger demographic, where so many were already raising concerns about this issue.
