Ragan’s Susan Young discusses a new poll by Wolters Kluwer Health that delves into nurses’ social media habits look like today, with an overwhelming amount of nurses indicating they turn to the Internet and social media to help with patient conditions. Even outside of work, 86% said they follow healthcare issues on social media. While the majority is prohibited by their organization’s policies to interact with patients on social media, it’s clear they are turning to these channels for new information and education. It’s critical to add social media extensions to our healthcare campaigns, not just to reach patients, but also nurses and other practitioners.
